Yes. The plugin connects your site to Cookiebot CMP, which runs the banner, scanner and consent storage. You can create a free account from the plugin’s setup screen or connect an existing one. Either way, your banner goes live as soon as the account is connected.

Your Cookiebot ID (also called the Domain Group ID) is in your Cookiebot account. Under manual implementation, copy only the part after cbid=, without the quotation marks. Paste it into the plugin settings in WordPress and click Connect Account. Your banner goes live straight away.

This setup uses separate Domain Groups for each configuration and the data-georegions attribute in the Cookiebot script to display the correct banner based on the visitor’s location, for example one for GDPR and another for CCPA/CPRA.
